SEEBURGER today announced that in cooperation with SAP, it successfully implemented the new version of the SAP® Global Trade Services application for more than 200 customers. These customers, who are exporters and importers, are now able to benefit from higher data quality, faster introduction and execution processes, international trade compliance and uniform foreign trade practices across the entire enterprise. SAP Global Trade Services will also be necessary to implement the innovations requested by the German customs authority.

In releases ATLAS 8.4 and AES 2.1 of the German customs solutions, the custom number is replaced by the Economic Operators’ Registration and Identification number (EORI number) in all customs procedures as of January 31, 2013. Meanwhile the German customs authorities are announcing the next set of changes for September 2013, which will contain ATLAS 8.4.5 and AES 2.2. Enterprises that operate in international trade are therefore forced to continually update their software. This is the only way they can comply with constantly changing international legislation, integrate the electronic means of communication of government and customs authorities, and avoid costly delays.
